Plump it up!
Dermal fillers can be used to restore or provide contour and symmetry, plump out lines, wrinkles and creases. We like to focus on lips, cheeks, chin and jawline using non-permanent, Hyaluronic Acid based fillers from approved, quality, science and nature focused international companies.
How it works
Dermal fillers are made up of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance present in our skin that is responsible for keeping it hydrated and plump. This very clever product is hydrophilic in nature (attracts and retains water), and comes in a vast bouquet of products, designed to address skin types and concerns. So, fillers help to hydrate the skin, replace volume loss and stimulate cell renewal within the skin. This makes the treatment super anti-ageing.
Dermal Fillers are metabolised and broken down by your body over time, with visible results generally lasting for 9 – 18 months. How you metabolise product will have an impact on how long your results last; this may be influenced by your water intake, your skincare routine, your lifestyle choices and how much you exercise. While the manufacturers give us an idea how long each product typically lasts, results do vary from person to person.
Pre-treatment
Prior to your first treatment we will complete a consultation with you to assess your suitability. At consultations we can answer any questions or concerns, and then tailor a treatment plan with specific costs clarified. Please ask any questions you have!
Dermal fillers can be a journey if there is a significant amount of volume desired – we like to slowly build up the product and allow for subtle and gradual changes. At following treatments, we can talk through how you felt about your previous treatment, results and any other questions you may have.
To reduce the likelihood of bruising avoid blood thinning medications one week prior to your appointment, such as: aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oils (consult your medical practitioner first).
Post-treatment
After your appointment the injection site might be red and tender for up to 48 hours. Ice is often applied during the treatment for your comfort and to address immediate swelling. Swelling and bruising is common and may take up to a week to resolve, for some clients antihistamines are recommended to help this (consult your doctor first). The treated area can experience mild to moderate pain which will continue to improve over the next two to five days. Lumps are also normal, it can take up two six weeks for the product to integrate into the tissue. Trust the process, text if you have any real concerns.
For the first 24 hours post-treatment, gentle cleansing and your normal skincare routine is fine, but we recommend you avoid oil based products, AHAs, retinol, and vitamin C.
Results
Filler results can be seen immediately. After an initial swelling and tenderness, optimal results are seen 2 – 6 weeks post-treatment and with good skincare, hydration and lifestyle choices, will last for 9 – 18 months.
As a naturally occurring product, HA slowly breaks down, and results wear off. If you enjoy your results, regular treatments will maintain your appearance and prolong results.
