While it’s name does not really make you think ‘natural’, hyaluronic acid actually is! This polysaccharide (carbohydrate) occurs naturally in our bodies and is present in large amounts in the spaces between skin cells providing moisture, plumpness, firmness and suppleness to the skin. And dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, (which is often written “HA”). Oooooh, so that makes sense, right? In effect, dermal fillers make our skin ‘fatter’. There are many types of dermal fillers, and they do different jobs. Some provide a little firmness to lip borders (no more lipstick ‘bleeds), for example, while others are soft and malleable to plump out cheeks and under eye troughs, and fill those pesky lines and creases. If you haven’t had a dermal filler treatment, you don’t know what you’re missing out on. They are long lasting, which makes them budget friendly, and they provide instant results. Some people experience a little bruising or swelling after a filler treatment, so if you have a special event coming up, take that time frame into account. At BLOOMSKIN we use a range of fillers, each of which are FDA approved, and from quality medical suppliers.
